Shio the shiba was very kind enough to offer some tips for first time and potential shiba inu owners. Did you know he revamped his whole blog so it looks super cool? Tip #1: Don't mess with the paws as referenced on Shio's blog.
Kit, Betsy and Natto are pros at "Nice to meet you" paw shake and they don't mind having their paws touched. But I know many shibas don't like it.

ReplyDeleteI was wondering what happened to Shio's site! Can't wait to check it out. And Katsumi will shake & high five for a little bit, but not long. And we're not dumb enough to try boots.
ReplyDeletejamie shakes for about .5 seconds before jerking her paw back. she'll also tolerate boots, but we haven't been able to find a pair (quadruple?) that stay on very well.

ReplyDeleteboth Kimiko and Eric HATE having their paws touched -- front ones are worse than back. Boots would be totally out of the question!
